Hoagie Roll Pizza (French Bread Pizza)

Hoagie Roll Pizza (French Bread Pizza)

You have a craving for pizza and you want it quick.  What do you do?  Simply make some Hoagie Roll Pizzas or French Bread Pizzas.  It is quick and easy to make.

[The difference between a hoagie roll pizza and a French Bread Pizza is the bread. A hoagie roll tends to be an Italian type of bread and it not as wide while French Bread is a different recipe and the loaves tend to be longer and wider. I also like the fact that hoagie rolls tend to be smaller in length and are more single serving size, but if I use French Bread I like cutting it into six-inch lengths.]

Hoagie Rolls

Hoagie Rolls

In a microwave bowl melt butter.  Add the garlic powder, onion powder and Italian seasoning and mix together.

Line a baking tray with foil.  Brush the outer crust with melted butter then brush the cut side of the rolls, with the remaining butter mixture. I pour any extra butter over the rolls. Place on foil lined tray and bake for 5-6 minutes.  There will be no color on the bread. Take the bread out of the oven.

Baked hoagie roll halves

Hoagie Rolls cut in half, buttered and seasoned with garlic powder, onion powder and Italian seasoning and lightly baked.

Spread 2 tablespoons of sauce on each roll.  If you like the lots of pizza sauce use more sauce, if you prefer a little sauce, use less.

Sauced Rolls

Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of grated Parmesan cheese one each pizza.

Parmesan Cheese Added

Parmesan Cheese sprinkled on the sauce

Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on each pizza.  I used about 1/4 cup on each pizza. Add additional toppings if desired.

Hoagie Rolls Pizza Ready for Baking

Mozzarella Cheese added then baked

Bake at 425ºF (220ºC) until the cheese is bubbling and has a few brown spots. (If the bread start to burn, stop baking at that point).  Allow to cool for several minutes before serving.
